about

Small studio. Restaurant obsessed.

LemonOctopus is the leading restaurant technology studio in the UK and Ireland.

We design and build the best restaurant websites, digital menus, integrations and custom software for restaurants, cafés, pubs and hospitality groups — in London, the South, the North, Scotland, Ireland and nationwide. We are also the team behind Quiteful, our own live menu and allergen platform. That means we do not approach restaurant technology from the outside. We are building, testing and operating it every day.

Why the octopus? *

Most restaurant digital work fails in the boring places: menus treated as PDFs, booking buttons bolted on, allergen information that nobody can trust, six venues sharing a copy-paste website. LemonOctopus exists to do the opposite — restaurant technology with a creative spine, delivered async so you can keep running service.

The name is deliberately odd. Good digital work should feel distinctive, not like another moody hospitality template with gold serif type. The mascot is a reminder that useful and playful are not opposites.

We are the UK and Ireland restaurant tech studio. London, Manchester, Glasgow, Dublin, Brighton — the work is remote and async, so the stack is the same wherever the venue is. We also run Quiteful, and A Little Bit Nuts — allergy-focused restaurant information for diners who need it. That is the point of view: we take restaurant information seriously.

What we stand for *

01

Creative-first

Taste matters. We build things that feel alive, not like another template with a new logo.

02

Technical enough

The work is playful on the surface and solid underneath: performance, accessibility and maintainability stay in view.

03

Async by default

Clear written updates, fewer meetings and more time spent actually making the thing better.

04

Honest scope

We say what is in, what is out and what will cost extra before the sprint starts — so nobody is surprised at launch.

05

Launch-ready handover

Deployment, analytics, QA and documentation are part of the work, not an afterthought you pay for separately.

06

Always improving

We measure what matters after go-live and keep tuning the system once it meets the world.

Who you are working with *

Jake

Founder & restaurant technologist

Jake runs LemonOctopus end to end — strategy, design, build and launch. Background spans restaurant websites, live menus, allergen systems and the unglamorous integration work that keeps bookings, EPOS and content talking to each other across the UK and Ireland. He also builds Quiteful.

How we work day to day *

Async-first does not mean silent. It means the right information shows up in writing, at the right time, without a standing call to repeat it.

  • Project updates you can scan in two minutes — scope, progress, blockers and next steps.
  • Scoped sprints with a named approver so feedback does not ping-pong through three people.
  • Shared docs, staging links and handover notes — not mystery progress in a black box.
  • Full process detail lives on the process page when you want the longer version.
